Friends Only is a book of names. We treat what you share with the care that implies. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When a friend writes you into the book, we collect your name and mobile number. Your number is used only to sign you in with a one time code, and to reach you about the nights you are part of.
You may choose to add more to your page: an email, your city, the year you were born, how you identify, your interests, and your Instagram. All of that is optional, and you can change or clear it at any time.
When you attend a night, we record that you claimed a place and, if the keeper scans your ticket, that you arrived. If you and another guest scan each other, we record that connection. If you add a photo or video to a night’s album, we store that file.
How we use it
To run the membership and the nights: to let you in, hold your place, give you your ticket, connect you with people you meet, and keep the book of memories. We also look at our audience in aggregate, as counts and rates, to understand the community and to show partners the shape of the room. No individual is ever named in that.
What other members can see
Other members only ever see your first name, your handle, and your photo. Your phone number and your email are never shown to another member, for any reason. Your Instagram is shared only with people you choose to connect with by scanning each other in person.
What sponsors can see
Partners and sponsors receive aggregate, anonymous numbers only, such as the age range or cities of a room. They never receive your name, your number, your email, or any way to identify you. We do not sell your personal information. We never will.
How it is protected
Your data lives in an encrypted database with strict access rules, so the system itself refuses to hand your information to anyone who is not allowed to see it. There are no passwords to leak, because you sign in by phone code. Everything travels encrypted.
Who helps us run it
We use trusted services to operate: Supabase stores the data, Vercel hosts the app, and, where used, Twilio delivers the sign in codes and Stripe handles payments. They process this information on our behalf and under their own strong security.
Your choices
You can edit or clear the optional details on your page at any time. You can ask us to remove you from the book entirely, and we will. For anything about your information, write to friendsonly@canibringafriend.com.
Age
Our nights are for adults. You must be of legal age to attend, and where a night serves alcohol, you must meet the legal drinking age for that location.
Changes
If we change this page, we will update the date above. Continuing to use Friends Only means you accept the current version.
